The Truth About Elvis Presley
Elvis or Evils?
By: David J. Stewart
There are an estimated 500 Elvis fan clubs around the world. There are Elvis impersonators by the hundreds, if not thousands. Even decades after the death of Elvis, he is still worshipped as a god by the multitudes. I even found the photo to the left portraying Elvis as a christ. The Elvis fan craze is nothing less than blasphemous idolatry. The Graceland mansion in Tennessee still rakes in millions of dollars each year from visiting Elvis fans from all over the world. It is sickening! Given the title of "King of rock n' roll," Elvis certainly lived up to the sexually degenerate term. Elvis was NO hero amongst bible-believing, Christ-honoring Christians. Elvis' music was a Trojan horse to America's youth, desensitizing them to the evil's of Hellish rock n' roll. In case you don't know, the term "rock n' roll" originated from a godless radio DJ in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was a slang term used to describe sex. Elvis was a sexually degenerate whoremonger who wasted his life in sin. Tragically, Elvis influenced millions to join his revolution of rebellion. Elvis was a heathen!
"The more time Elvis and I spent together, the more we learned how eerily similar we were. Some things were obvious, such as a love of motorcycles, music, and performing. We'd both also experienced meteoric rises in show business; we liked our privacy; we loved our families; we had a strong belief in God."

The Truth About Elvis
Elvis grew up in a superficially religious family, sporadically attending First Assembly of God Church in East Tupelo, Mississippi, then First Assembly of God in Memphis. His father and mother were not committed church members, though, and though Elvis attended church frequently with his mother during his childhood, he never made a profession of faith or joined the church. The pastor in Memphis, James E. Haffmill, says Elvis did not sing in church or participate in a church group (Steve Turner, Hungry for Heaven, p. 20). By his high school years, Elvis largely stopped attending church. Elvis's father, Vernon, and mother, Gladys, met at the First Assembly of God in Tupelo, but they eloped a few months later.
...Elvis's mother... was "a woman susceptible to the full spectrum of backwoods superstitions, prone to prophetic dreams and mystical intuitions" (Stairway to Heaven, p. 46).
...By 1956, Presley was a national rock star and teenage idol, and his music and image had a tremendously unwholesome effect upon young people. Parents, pastors, and teachers condemned Elvis's sensual music and suggestive dancing and warned of the evil influence he was exercising among young people.
...Elvis performed and recorded many gospel songs. In the early 1950s he attended all-night gospel quartet concerts at the First Assembly of God and Ellis Auditorium in Memphis and befriended such famous groups as the Blackwood Brothers and the Statesmen. When he was 18, Elvis auditioned for a place in the Songfellows Quartet, but the position was given to James Blackwood's nephew Cecil. Later, as his rock & roll career was prospering, Elvis was offered a place with the Blackwood Brothers, but he turned it down. Even after he became famous, Elvis continued attending Southern gospel sings and the National Quartet Convention. In the early year of his rock & roll career, he sang some with the Blackwood Brothers and the Statesmen at all-night sings at Ellis Auditorium in Memphis (Taylor, Happy Rhythms, p. 117)...
Elvis's love for gospel music is not evidence that he was born again. His on-again, off-again profession of faith in Christ also was not evidence that he was saved. Three independent Baptist preachers have testified that Elvis told them that he had trusted Jesus as his Savior in his younger years but was backslidden. There was no biblical evidence for that, though. We must remember that Elvis grew up around churches and understood all of the terminology. There was never a time, though, when Elvis's life changed. Empty professions of faith do not constitute biblical salvation... Elvis liked some gospel music but he did not like Bible preaching. He refused to allow anyone, including God, tell him how to live his life...
"Elvis Presley never stood for anything. He made no sacrifices, fought no battles, suffered no martyrdom, never raised a finger to struggle on behalf of what he believed or claimed to believe Even gospel, the music he cherished above all, he travestied and commercialized and soft-soaped to the point where it became nauseating. ... Essentially, Elvis was a phony. ... He feigned piety, but his spirituals sound insincere or histrionic" (Goldman, Elvis: The Last 24 Hours, pp. 187, 188).
...The book he took to the bathroom just before he died was either The Force of Jesus by Frank Adams or The Scientific Search for the Face of Jesus, depending on various accounts... Elvis never made a public profession of faith in Christ, was never baptized, and never joined a church Pastor Hamill, former pastor of First Assembly of God in Memphis, says that Presley visited him in the late 1950s, when he was at the height of his rock & roll powers, and testified: "Pastor, I'm the most miserable young man you've ever seen. I've got all the money I'll ever need to spend. I've got millions of fans. I've got friends. But I'm doing what you taught me not to do, and I'm not doing the things you taught me to do" (Steve Turner, Hungry for Heaven, p. 20).
Elvis did not drink, but he abused drugs most of his life...
Elvis did not believe the Bible in any traditional sense... Elvis constructed "a personalised religion out of what he'd read of Hinduism, Judaism, numerology, theosophy, mind control, positive thinking and Christianity" (Hungry for Heaven, p. 143). The night he died, he was reading the book Sex and Psychic Energy (Goldman, Elvis: The Last 24 Hours, p. 140). Elvis loved material by guru Paramahansa Yogananda, the Hindu founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship...In considering a marriage to Ginger Alden (which never came to pass) prior to his death, Elvis wanted the ceremony to be held in a pyramid-shaped arena "in order to focus the spiritual energies upon him and Ginger" (Goldman, Elvis: The Last 24 Hours, p. 125). Elvis traveled with a portable bookcase containing over 200 volumes of his favorite books. The books most commonly associated with him were books promoting pagan religion, such as The Prophet by Kahilil Gibran; Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda; The Mystical Christ by Manley Palmer; The Life and Teachings of the Master of the Far East by Baird Spalding; The Inner Life by Leadbetter; The First and Last Freedom by Krishnamurti; The Urantia Book; The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception; the Book of Numbers by Cheiro; and Esoteric Healing by Alice Bailey. Elvis was a great fan of occultist Madame Blavatsky. He was so taken with Blavatsky's book The Voice of Silence, which contains the supposed translation of ancient occultic Tibetan incantations, that he "sometimes read from it onstage and was inspired by it to name his own gospel group, Voice" (Goldman, Elvis, p. 436). Another of Elvis's favorite books was The Impersonal Life, which supposedly contains words recorded directly from God by Joseph Benner. Biographer Albert Goldman says Elvis gave away hundreds of copies of this book over the last 13 years of his life.
Elvis was sometimes called the evangelist by those who hung around him, and he called them his disciples; but the message he preached contained "strange permutations of Christian dogma" (Stairway to Heaven, p. 56). Elvis believed, for example, that Jesus slept with his female followers. Elvis even had messianic concepts of himself as the savior of mankind in the early 1970s. He read the Bible aloud at times and even conducted some strange "Bible studies," but he had no spiritual discernment and made up his own wild-eyed interpretations of biblical passages. His ex-wife, Priscilla, eventually joined the Church of Scientology, as did his daughter, Lisa Marie, and her two children.
Late that night the phone rang in our bedroom [Ann-Margret's bedroom with her husband Roger Smith]. I knew who was on the other end, and I was pleased that Roger was in the living room next door. If he had answered the telephone, I suppose Elvis would have hung up, just like in the movies.
Elvis told me how great it had been seeing me earlier. I looked wonderful. His prayers for my recovery had been answered. But then his tone changed. Saying he was lonely, he asked if he could see me. It was a question I'd anticipated since afternoon but hoped that he wouldn't really ask.
"You know I can't."
"I know," he said. "But I just want you to know that I still feel the same."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Elvis, a Preacher?
Pastor Hamill, former pastor of First Assembly of God in Memphis, says that Presley visited him in the late 1950s, when he was at the height of his rock & roll powers, and testified: "Pastor, I’m the most miserable young man you’ve ever seen. I’ve got all the money I’ll ever need to spend. I’ve got millions of fans. I’ve got friends. But I’m doing what you taught me not to do, and I’m not doing the things you taught me to do" (Steve Turner, Hungry for Heaven, p. 20).
Elvis represents everything that is evil, truly his name should have been called "EVILS," and NOT Elvis.
Imagine - John Lenon (Satanic Vision Song)
IMAGINE (John Lenon - The Beatles)
by David J. Stewart
“It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” (Ecclesiastes 7:5)
Imagine first appeared on the Billboard chart on September 18, 1971, reaching #1 and spending a total of 30 weeks. “Imagine” was John Lennon's second major release apart from the Beatles. Released on September 9, 1971 (US) and October 8, 1971 (UK), it has remained John's most commercially successful album. It was recorded primarily in John's home studio which turned out to be the last time he would ever record in England.
The first tract on the album, Imagine, would become Lennon's legacy to a world living in rebellion against God. In the song, Lennon paints an “unrealistic” picture of life in the minds of his listeners. He sees a world without Heaven or Hell, without religion. He sees a world without countries, borders and without war.
Though such a “dream” may seem admirable to many people, Lennon's dream CLEARLY requires an abandonment of God and His Word. Sin is ignored. The Bible has divided more people than any other book ever written. Why is this? It's simply because there is a Heaven and Hell John. Sin is a reality of life. There is a malicious Devil who works relentlessly to DECEIVE us (2nd Corinthians 4:4; 11:3). There is a Loving God in Heaven Who has provided us with a plan of redemption through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43). Humanity is sinful (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10,19-23).
No matter how much we try to fulfill Lennon's dream, it WILL fail because humans are wicked, dirty, rotten, conniving, lying, stealing, murderous, hell-bound, sinners! This is exactly what is wrong with modern psychology. Whether you believe the Bible or not, you CANNOT deny historical facts. If history has taught us only one thing, it has taught us that men DON'T learn from their mistakes. History always repeats itself. The Bible describes the woeful condition of mankind like no other Book. Who are we to argue with God?
Here's the lyrics to Lennon's hit song Imagine (1971):
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Did you read that? Lennon sang, “Imagine there's no heaven... it's EASY if you try.” It's easy if you try? Well, not exactly John. You see Psalm 19:1 proclaims that “The heavens declare the glory of God...” It would be very difficult to deny something that is so obvious. In fact, let's look at Romans 1:20 (I'm about to discourage anyone who shares Lennon's dream of a utopian world without God)...
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:20)
Romans 1:20 plainly warns that no one has an excuse not to acknowledge and obey God in their life. Certainly, Lennon's message sounds wonderful. Only a hateful person would want war and bloodshed, which religion often leads to. However, John Lennon's views are not reality. War is a fact of life, because sin is a fact of life.
As long as there are lustful, greedy, proud, murderous, hateful people in the world there will be a necessity to go to war. It would be great if we were all perfect, and there were no sinners and we could all respect and love one another; but that's not the situation at all.
We are sinners... “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Sadly, despite the Vatican's attempt to forgive John's sins, it's too late him.
Lennon's song, Imagine, is nothing more than a delusional fantasy. Tragically, many people in the world today are trying to fulfill Lennon's impossible dream. It's the religion of New Age and it's vehicle is the New World Order, i.e., the Beast System of the coming Antichrist. New Age teachings ignore the reality of sin, the necessity for divine judgment and the justice of being punished in the fires of Hell. We all deserve to burn in Hell for our own sins. The root teaching of New Age is that mankind is not sinful, which eliminates the need for salvation and a Savior. This is not reality. Anyone with a brain sees the wickedness of mankind. Everyone
blames religious people; but it's mankind as a whole.
Satan is a master deceiver... "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming them elves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2nd Corinthians 11:13-14). Satan is a con-artist. When The Beatles came to America, America's preachers weren't just angry about the devilish music. They were also concerned about the worldly philosophies of The Beatles. From Paul McCartney's praise of Roman Catholicism in the hit song, Let It Be, to George Harrison's praise of Hare Krishna in his song, My Sweet Lord, The Beatles brought evil to America.
It was in the hit song, Back In The U.S.S.R., that The Beatles praised Communist Russia. One of Paul McCartney's song was titled, "Let's Do It In The Road." The Beatles represented everything unholy: fornication, drug abuse, rebellion, Communism, blasphemy against Jesus Christ, false religion, and even allegiance to Satan, as I will show you in a moment.

The Men Who Rejected Jesus Christ
The Men Who Rejected Jesus Christ
by David J. Stewart
I want to share with you something said by one of the wealthiest entertainers in the world..."One time, I got on my tour bus after a gig and we drove for seven or eight hours. We stopped at a truck stop in the early hours of the morning for a cup of coffee. We were out in the middle of nowhere. And this guy walks up to me and gives me one of these leaflets: "Jesus saves." And I say to the guy, "Where did you come from? There's nothing for miles and miles around here." He says, "I've been following you all night." I says, "You been following the bus all night just to give me this fu%#**! piece of paper? You don't want to go a church, my friend. You want to go see a fu%#**! psychiatrist."-Ozzy Osborne (Source -interview, Ozzy Meets Marilyn Manson, 1997)It doesn't surprise me so much that a secular entertainer would reject a Gospel tract, but what really impressed upon my heart was the fact that a soulwinner had followed behind a tour bus all night simply to witness to Mr. Osborne. What Ozzy Osborne considers insane was nothing less than the love of God working in the heart of one of God's children. Ozzy's heart is so cold towards God that he actually told someone who cared about him to go see a psychiatrist. I guess that shouldn't be too surprising considering that Mr. Osborne is famous for biting the head off in live bat. Who needs to go see a psychiatrist? You know, if someone followed behind me all night to share their beliefs with we, I would be moved by that. Even if I totally disagreed with the person, I'd at least thank the person for caring about me. Out of the words of Ozzy Osborne's own mouth, he condemns himself. Ozzy admits openly that he rejected the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Ozzy didn't just tell the man to go away, he cursed that little piece of paper that read "Jesus Saves". Mr. Osborne said, "You been following the bus all night just to give me this fu%#**! piece of paper?" We'll Mr. Osborne, that fu%#**! piece of paper was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, Ozzy Osborne remembers exactly what the title of that little piece of paper was...JESUS SAVES!"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" -2nd Thessalonians 1:8Ozzy Osborne KNOWS the truth, but he has willingly rejected it. According to the above Scripture, hell awaits Mr. Osborne and all others who obey NOT the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.Though Mr. Osborne denies being a Satanist, his music is certainly Satanic. Oddly enough, Ozzy is famed for using Satanic imagery throughout his music and performances, yet claims he doesn't believe in hell..."I don't believe there's a heaven upstairs and a hell downstairs. I think we've got both hell and heaven here on earth. It's all here for us."-Ozzy Osborne (Source -interview, Ozzy Meets Marilyn Manson, 1997)Ozzy admits that about 25 parents have sued him for the suicide deaths of their children, alleging his music as the cause (Source -interview, Ozzy Meets Marilyn Manson, 1997). Mr. Osborne defends his music and so does the Supreme Court on the basis of Free Speech. In response to the accusations against Mr. Osborne, fellow entertainer Marilyn Manson (real name Brian Warner) said..."I've always said that if someone is stupid enough to want to kill themselves over music, then that's what they deserve. That's one less stupid person in the world."-Marilyn Manson (Source -interview, Ozzy Meets Marilyn Manson, 1997)Warner eerily sounds like Ebenezer Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol," when he proclaimed..."Then let the poor perish and decrease the surface population." Ozzy Osborne and Marilyn Manson are icons to young and middle-aged rockers around the world, revered literally to the point of worship in many cases. Brian Warner (Manson) claims that he attended a Christian school while growing up (which prohibited him from listening to such bands as Queen, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath). Warner actually attributes his Satanic music career to having been denied such music as a child. In short, he blames Christians.Though Brian Warner's claims might seem logical to some, they are simply excuses and malicious attacks against God and the church. The bottom line is Brian Warner is a bitter man against God. Just as Ozzy Osborne, Brian Warner is without God...Rock star, Marilyn Manson, proudly boasts:"Hopefully, I’ll be remembered as the person who brought an end to Christianity."
-Marilyn Mason -(Source: Spin, August 1996, p. 34)Ozzy Osborne and Marilyn Manson are NOT just men without Jesus Christ, they are also men who have deliberately rejected Jesus Christ. Many of their lyrics mock the Word of God and Jesus Christ. Ozzy is also famed as the former lead singer of the Satanic band,Black Sabbath. In one of the more popular songs of Black Sabbath, Iron Man, Ozzy Osborne personifies Satan as the "Iron Man," proclaiming that he "kills those he wants saved." For Ozzy Osborne to deny any belief in heaven or hell and claim not to be a Satanist is simply absurd. Both of the men presented in this article are in desperate need of salvation, but more than likely they will both burn in hell-fire due to the stubborn rebellion and hardness of their hearts against the truth of God's Word. God will NOT be mocked, a man will reap what he sows (Galatians 6:7). Both of these wicked men can still be forgiven and saved, but they MUST come to God in repentance. God will surely receive them if they'll only repent of their unrighteousness and come to the Saviour in faith. ONLY through Jesus Christ can anyone go to heaven."Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -John 14:6How about you my friend...have your ever been born again? I plead with you not to be foolish like Osborne and Manson...they are hellbound. If you'd like to know for certain that you are going to heaven when you die, then please click on the link below.
